Apple just released iLife 08 and iWork 08....
Will be going straight to the Apple Store in 4 hours... and get me some Apple lovin....

might even get the new keyboard while I'm there.....

Japan is in the wrong time zone!!

Sapporo, Japan - Sunrise, sunset, dawn and dusk times for the whole year - Gaisma

The above graph demonstrates sunrise and sunset times through the year. You can see that at the height of summer dawn in Sapporo is before 3.30am, and even in winter (where it begins to get dark around 4.30pm) the sun is rising before 7am. It is a ridiculous situation... one that I don't expect to change but it is truely one of my pet peeves about life in Japan.

Chris went for a ride...

Sunday started off cool and grey. The rain from yesterday seemed to be holding off.... nice I will go for a ride... head into town... grab a coffee... see if anybody can meet up...

So off I head... passing through the German Beer Garden the smell of freshly roasted cinnamon almonds overwhelmed me, I stopped and bought a medium size packet. The warm nuts in the pack and the smell quickly tempted me to open them up... what is the point of fresh roasted nuts.. if you don't eat them fresh?

As I arrived at Starbucks I ate the last almond. My body was now overloaded on evil sugar... I could feel sugar coursing through me... ooops.. too much... so I choose a long black coffee... no more sugar today if I could help it...

After the coffee I thought I would head up and see what movies are on. Nothing at a convenient time. And then I remembered I needed a new bathroom mat, the chemicals I used to try and clean the last one were a little harsh, the mat dissolved in areas...

So I headed into Loft (a Japanese dept. store), grabbed a bathroom mat... and then all those other things that I "needed" came to me. A tidy-all for the cutlery draw, a scrubbing brush to help clean the bathroom, vacuum packs to help save some space in my cupboard.

Then the not so essential items - a rack to lie across the sink, a new knife...

I walked out of loft ¥10,000 ($100) poorer - thankfully I have job now.

All from going and getting a coffee...

2007 My year of waiting.. technologically speaking

This year has been SO FRUSTRATING!!
I have been desiring/lusting after new gadgets (all from Apple). The problem is I know this stuff for the most part is out there... it is coming... but when? when can I upgrade my life and satisfy my consumerist requirements!!
I think I better go to the temple and get hit with a wooden plank by a monk... not that I know why that is meant to solve my consumer desire.

My current shopping list.. and status (in order of desire)

iPhone... waiting (most of us that is)
iPod next gen.... waiting (depending on features would depend on final ranking)
iLife 07 errr 08.... waiting
Leopard... waiting
iMac revision... waiting
ultrathin notebook... waiting (and unconfirmed)

Now I'm not complaining... or blaming anything or anyone... I'm just merely pointing out my own emotional state... a desire to get my hands onto the above kit... and I cant! grrrr
