Apple just released iLife 08 and iWork 08....
Will be going straight to the Apple Store in 4 hours... and get me some Apple lovin....
might even get the new keyboard while I'm there.....
This year has been SO FRUSTRATING!!
I have been desiring/lusting after new gadgets (all from Apple). The problem is I know this stuff for the most part is out there... it is coming... but when? when can I upgrade my life and satisfy my consumerist requirements!!
I think I better go to the temple and get hit with a wooden plank by a monk... not that I know why that is meant to solve my consumer desire.
My current shopping list.. and status (in order of desire)
- iPhone... waiting (most of us that is)
- iPod next gen.... waiting (depending on features would depend on final ranking)
- iLife 07 errr 08.... waiting
- Leopard... waiting
- iMac revision... waiting
- ultrathin notebook... waiting (and unconfirmed)
Now I'm not complaining... or blaming anything or anyone... I'm just
merely pointing out my own emotional state... a desire to get my hands
onto the above kit... and I cant! grrrr
I just struck gold. Pure Gold!!!!
well ok it is software... and it is good... very very very good!!
I heard about it on the last episode of the Maccast and it is called iFlash.
I downloaded the demo and 10 minutes later I went back and paid the guy.
Basically it is just flash card software for your computer. But it is done right.
Cards can be multisided, coloured, tagged with images and audio input. It really is a wonderful application.
I have created the katakana database (all the katakana from みんなの日本語), and I'm now working on other vocab.
I wish I had found this app earlier.. I have so much data to enter... at least I'm learning on the way.
Putting in the verb conjugations is going to be a bitch, and I'm trying to work out the best way to do the Kanji. Each individual kanji with on and kun readings on the back? Whole words?
If you have any ideas on how to set up the kanji I would be interested to hear them
If you are learning something and need flash cards and use a Mac then I can't recommend this app enough.
this is just a recommendation I have no financial or vested interest in it.
Well this isn't the normal sort of thing I would blog about. But as an Apple fan I thought I would quickly mention that last nights WWDC didn't really drop any bombshells. (The only hardware updates were to be expected).
However what I did get a buzz out of was the few hints at what Leopard (OSX -10.5) will offer. In particular Mail is getting a revamp. And I really like what they are offering, it is probably something that should have been offered some time ago.. but it will be coming. Go here to check it out. I also like the iChat revisions... but as my iChat list is very very thin (ie 2 ppl only) then it doesn't really offer me much.
Check out what else Leopard will offer by visiting the Leopard sneak preview.
Again I find myself wishing 8 months of my life away to get my hands on this... (I think Apple or maybe Spore are the only 2 things to have me wishing my life away).
